One of the ways to keep up to date with the publishing industry, improve your skills and have the opportunity to be with other writers is to attend regular meetings of writing groups. I'm a member of Romance Writers of America, Georgia Romance Writers, Spacecoast Authors, SW Florida Romance Writers, The Kiss of Death Writers Group and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
